There has been a move to require age verification before viewing content that is adult in nature. This has been introduced by legislation like the UK Online Safety Act. In most cases this means using a ID document or face scan to prove your age. The use of a credit card can bypass this requirement as they are already age limited. A VPN would allow access through any IP based check.
Only Silk And Satin are using Yoti. This service has a dedicated Smartphone app to process a face scan. It has been chosen as the least data invasive process. The other option is to upload an ID document to Yoti. This covers both free and paid accounts. Subscriptions made by credit card remove the need for this check.
